Doc's Two cents

A Little Bit About Me

For those that don't know me, I'm Doc. I've been preaching and studying god's Word for 50 years. Folks that know me know I'm a stickler about being accurate in what I teach people about the Word of God! That's why I currently hold three Doctorates. Being accurate with the Word of God is so important to me that I couldn't just let people tell me what the original Greek said so I learned Greek to be able to read the original manuscripts for myself to see what they said! Even with all of this, I'm NOT the final authority on anything! I tell people all the time if you can show me scripturally where I'm not accurate I'll change. I'm not afraid to BE wrong but I'm scared to death to STAY wrong! I believe that the truth of scripture transcends any denominational lines so I don't toe any denominational lines! That's how important being accurate is to me! And as a footnote don't believe something just because I said it. It is your responsibility to check up on me and make sure I'm teaching you the truth!

My Calling

God called me to preach when I was 16 years old. I ran for a few years but finally relented to the purpose God had for me. I have held every position in the church from the janitor all the way up to Senior Pastor. God has also called me and my family to sing Southern Gospel music. This year my wife Peggy and I will celebrate 49 years standing next to each other singing the Gospel!

The Future

I do all of the social media and graphic work for the group. I just designed the group's new website! Now I have started this blog. My son Dwayne and I are also talking about starting a podcast where we talk about current events as they relate to scripture.

The group is still traveling the Southeast singing and ministering in every door God opens. We have also been invited to come to Ghana, Africa! We are excited about the prospect of helping to plant new churches and teaching and training local pastors to pastor their churches better!

This Blog

My purpose for this blog is to teach the unsearchable riches of the scriptures! I'm going to tackle some of the hard and sensitive topics confronting us today. My hope is you will join me on this journey as we explore the Word of God together.
